Bilingual Operations Manager-Madison, WI

We are in search of an Bilingual Operations Manager to lead business and our Spanish speaking employees in our Madison office.  This position is responsible for managing the daily operations, customers and employees at multiple facilities throughout the greater Madison, WI area and provide support to our business throughout Wisconsin.  Successful candidates are those with the education or related management experience and those who truly have a customer service mentality with the inner drive to lead people and are fluent in Spanish and English [read, write, speak both languages].  

Approximate schedule is normally between 9am-7pm {though the hours tend to go later rather than earlier as needed}, Monday through Friday with some weekend coverage.

Manage daily cleaning operations: the position will serve as an Operations manager, planning, coordinating, deploying resources, troubleshooting problems, managing budgets, training and developing field managers and supervisors; as needed, filling in for managers, supervisors or cleaners, delivering supplies and equipment, assisting with start-ups, etc.

Customer relations: maintain customer confidence, complete customer relations visits, respond to requests and concerns, provide new pricing, etc.

Employee relations: maintain a positive employee culture, ensure training and proper tools and resources are available, respond to employee questions and concerns, translate for our Spanish speaking employees and complete employee relations activities such as meetings, parties, incentives, etc.

Finances/Administration: responsible for labor budgets and labor efficiency, overhead budgets and branch overhead efficiency and various administrative and reporting requirements

 

Starting salary will be $48,000+/year based on industry experience, education and other relevant qualifications.  Commissions and bonuses will be available for labor and other budgetary performance, sales, and recruitment efforts.  We offer benefits on the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.

The job does require some minimum qualifications:

  • Valid Driver License with a driving record that is insurable by business insurance standards
  • Transportation [we reimburse mileage monthly]
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking both English and Spanish
  • Criminal background checks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Outside of having to deal with a wide variety of people and personalities, a major challenge for our managers is handling the physicalness of the job.  This is a "hands on" management position that will require some cleaning, especially when training office cleaners. 

Since our office cleaners must be able be able to perform continuous physical activity at a reasonably fast pace, including walking, standing, bending, reaching and lifting and carrying (up to 40 pounds), our manager must be prepared to do the same. Typical cleaning duties include trash removal, dusting, spray-cleaning, vacuuming (using back-pack style vacuums), mopping and cleaning of restrooms.
